:ambal:Well, my father is back in the hospital. He was holding a lot of fluid since his last time in the hospital. His legs are twice the size they should be from his knees to groin. Hope all the swelling in his body goes down quickly.

His doctor:doctor: sent him right to the ER to be admitted. Hopefully the IV lasix will get rid of all the fluid.

If you can spare more prayers and pixies, it is greatly appreciated. I am so determined to get him to his next birthday in June.

Thanks

Well my Intercot family. You all came through with powerful prayers and pixies.

He is doing much better. On Saturday I was told he would be there for a week. At 11AM today I was told he is being discharged, preferably to a skilled nursing facility....TODAY. His doctor discharged him.

Well long story...short. It didn't happen today. My brother and I talked to a SNF not far from either of us and they have room. We went to check it out and it was beautiful. It kind of reminded me of a Disney hotel like the Beach Club... just no hidden Mickeys in the carpet:mickey: They allow pet there and I asked if I could bring my dog over for a visit and I am able to do that. Kind of nice to have that option. He misses us and the dog too.

After the run a round this morning everything is arranged. I will pick him up tomorrow and take him to the SNF tomorrow. Because he can sit in bed and walk, he doesn't qualify for Medicare to transport him... no biggie since I can do it.

I really don't like the hospital he is in this time. The care is good, but other things just rub me the wrong way. I think they overlook some things. On Saturday I was talking with his nurse and asked how his blood sugar has been running. She didn't know since they were not taking it...HUH The nurse knew he was on medication for his diabetes.... Also when his nurse had him walk, she took him off of the oxygen. After the walk she forgot to put it back on. Just little things that seem big when you are not in your familiar situations.

My father was so down when I went there this afternoon. He thought that going to the SNF was the end of his life as he knew it. I told him that this is only for 7-15 days to have some rehab and physical therapy. Not to sit and wait to die. That is what he was thinking. He was much better knowing it is temporary.

So goes my stressful morning/afternoon. I don't need this kind of aggravation and stress.

Thanks for all the pixies and prayers...please keep them coming.
