According to an OC Register (http://www.ocregister.com/entertainment/policy-499963-children-age.html) story, starting March 23rd, children under the age of 14 will have to be accompanied by someone 14 or older to get into Disneyland, California Adventure, the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The policy change is going into effect across all Disney’s American resorts, which previously had varying age policies. Walt Disney World’s two water parks were not mentioned.

“We regularly review all policies and identified an opportunity to provide a consistent age of admission and address a question we occasionally get from parents,” said Disneyland spokeswoman Suzi Brown. The policy was not triggered by any specific issue with unaccompanied children in a park, she said.

Because most children under 14 do not have government-issued identification cards, the policy won’t be enforced by ID checking. Employees will approach those who look young, and if the children are under 14, they will contact a parent or guardian. Families with annual passes, some of whom routinely drop their children off at a park for the day, will be notified to ensure they know about the policy change, Brown said.
