Let me start by saying I know that everything asked for is only a request but you would like to believe they hear you.
1. We booked and requested certain buildings in Alligator Bayou in Riverside. We had need to be closer to the main building for specific reasons which were noted in the requests.
2. We had two rooms and of course going with my kids we wanted them adjoining.

well at check in they gave us our room assignments and the building we had was the furthest one out in the resort. Those of you who have been here know that the walk outweighs the cup of coffee you want and takes away from the resort stay. We also were given 1 room upstairs and 1 downstairs. I asked them would they seperate themselves from there family on there vacation????
I spoke to the manager and they moved me to building 38 which was a little closer but not great. I was to come back the next day and check if anything else was available but when we went to the room the refrigerator was never cleaned out and was full to the brim with the previous guests leftovers??

At that point we requested to be moved did not care where. We relocated to a different hotel.

Just wondering who else has seen problems like this the last few years. You would think they would treat repeat visitors a little better if they want us to keep revisiting. I guess they just hope we will deal with it???

I'm so sorry!

The really close rooms are now preferred, but I've always had Disney try to accomedate at least the most important of my requests.

I've never been able to get connecting rooms, but at least they have been next door.

I hope they got you sorted out at the new hotel, and that the trip got better!

Sorry to hear that you had trouble with a room reservation. We had a similar situation come up when we did our online check-in and requested a room near transportation for our pregnant sister-in-law. We were staying at All-Star Music and were placed in the Broadway section, much to our dismay.

My only feedback to you would be, in addition to voicing your concerns here, send them to [email protected]. They take feedback very seriously, and I wouldn't be surprised if they called you to talk about it.

Something I learned about online check-in....DO NOT do online check-in if you have a specific room request. The room assignments are handled by a computer and most likely a real person won't see the request. If you have a specific need or request, have it noted on your reservation and check in when you arrive at the hotel. Then you are guaranteed your request will at least be looked at by a person, and you can provide additional information as to why you're making the request. Hope this helps, and so sorry it was such a headache for you & your family!

I did check in at the hotel and this is what we were given. I know the place was booked because of the parade being filmed but I can tell you as a mulipple repeat visitor i was very disappointed in the lack of concern on meeting some of the requests. i was not going to be on vaction spending a good amount of money and have my kids in a room on a different floor, just not the way it should be. We basically lost the whole first day. I did voice my concerns to management upon my return home and they did offer a credit for only 1 of my rooms for 1 night. Not that i was looking for anything just wanted them to know they have placed a cloud over there reservation system in my mind.

We faxed in a request for a certain building at CSR two years in a row (King Bed room which we paid for). 2011 no issue, 2012 different building (next one over) but the room faced the parking lot.

When we checked in, the Cast Member was a trainee and working with a manager. The manager saw my request and noted where our room was located. While she apologized a number of times, she did nothing to change it or do anything else for us.

If you paid for a room with a view and got a parking lot, you should have spoken up. I would have asked for a credit or an explaination why my PAID FOR room was not available. For example, if I pay for a magic kingdom view and get a parking lot, you know I'm not going to just 'let that go'.

Since the desk clerk brought it up, depending on how busy the resort was... I might have asked... "well...is it possible to move me there?"

Usually if they say 'we see it' but don't give it to you, they might be full in the other building...or they are waiting for you to ask?

I have asked a couple of times to have our room assignment changed. In both cases I also asked for them to show me on the resort map the other rooms that are available and then picking the one that suited most (and was the equivalent of what I paid for). Of course, if the resort is booked solid, this might not be possible, but it never hurts to ask.

Room request are a nice feature that they offer, but they are not always guaranteed. :) Think about if you are requesting a room that you think is "best", how many other people probably thing those surrounding rooms are the best.

If you requested a room in Alligator Bayou 14, 15, 18 or 27 these fall under the category of Preferred Rooms and need to be booked as such.

Disney caught on to everyone asking to be in one of these buildings and added the extra category and charge for them.

Disney will never guarantee room requests either.

Sorry I wasn't a little clearer ... we still got a King room ... it just faced the parking lot.

In this case King room is a bookable category, but there is no guaranteed view when booking this category.

So while you can request a certain view or bldg, they will not guarantee it.

You actually got what you paid for, just not what you wanted.

We always stay at POR AB and have made a request every year and we rarely get what we want...I even call 2 days before check-in...Last year we paid for a water view and we were going to be stuck in the very back...If we didn't go by the night before just to see if we could get our room # then we wouldn't have been able to change...

We have been so very lucky I guess !! We have ALWAYS received the bldg / area we request. You can see from my signature we're repeat guests as well. I know they try as I can testify to that, but I'm sure it's hard to accomodate everyone !!

I cannot understand why they wouldn't work with you and to give you rooms on different floors....I would have not let up till they fixed that problem, AND if you had good reason to be closer than needing the "coffee" I would have been insistant to the point of.....never mind....I don't like getting mad !! hahaa!

Yes I have recieved my room requests. This past trip in Oct 2012 we requested 3 connecting rooms. (At the very least near each other and one connecting) additionally I requested to be near transportation. When we got our rooms ( I did online check in) I was happy to see that all 3 rooms were connecting. Since this was the priority, I was not upset with the location (a little further than I wanted) and in the end I really enjoyed the location. I went in thinking I would not get our request and was pleasantly surprised. Sorry the same was not true for you. :(
