Made in China, no doubt.

No thanks...

Really? We do not want make-up. How about fixing attractions. Improving the parks. Ugh!!!

Seriously? This is probably the oddest idea I've read about recently. I don't know who they "think" will buy this, but I only see the little ones showing any real interest. Last time I checked, I wasn't spending hundreds of dollars for my girls' makeup.

Agreed!

Interesting and intriguing and something that I would take a look at. I love makeup! But I'd want to know a little more about it before I buy (what are the ingredients, etc) and the price would have to be affordable. Overall, I just don't see this as something that's going to be a lasting endeavor.

This isn't as crazy as it sounds. Disney had a very successful collection debut last fall with Sephora. It started with Cinderella (which has sold out) and they have just launched Jasmine. I did buy the Cinderella nail polish for my daughter but it is adult make up.

According to the blog, it is going to be a similar quality to Sephora. The Sephora products run from $20 for a compact to $55 for an eye palette with 15 colors. There was also a successful MAC villain line last year.

I"m guessing based on the success of these lines, there is probably a market for it.

I have the Sephora Cinderella eye shadow quad, and the quality is amazing. Gorgeous pigments, and super easy blending. The quality is just as high as my Guerlain, Makeup Forever, MAC, Bare Minerals, Urban Decay, etc.

I am a huge makeup junkie, so I am really looking forward to this. One of my favorite things to do is visit France in Epcot and buy several goodies in the Guerlain and Givenchy boutiques there. Now I can also indulge in some Disney inspired palettes!

Hopefully it will be reasonably priced and they will be selling this in the park gift shops.
A couple of trips ago I lost my lipstick going through secruity at the MK and didn't realize it until I went to put some on. I had heard something hit the ground when the security woman roughly flipped my purse over to look in the zipper in the back. I looked around and didn't see anything, I'm guessing it rolled of somewhere.
When I realized it was gone I went to the Emporium and they called around and the only place that carried anything on property for the lips with color to it was at the dress shop at the Grand Floridian at $55 and up per tube. And I hated the colors.

There are plenty of people out there who want to recreate the look of popular Disney characters. I always see links to "how-tos" on Pinterest for character makeup. Even if you aren't looking to recreate a character look, plenty of women spend top dollar on makeup and I'm sure many of them are Disney fans as well who would get an extra smile knowing they are wearing Cinderella Blue or Belle gold or something along those lines. Look how popular the bridal gowns were. It doesn't sound like a little girl's product to me.

I am actually quite excited about this. My sister bought me disney villans make up (lip glosses and nail varnish) for Christmas from the Disney Store in the UK and I love it so I am very interested to see what will be in the parks.

Wow! You were told wrong!!

Epcot.... France..... Guerlain or Givenchy.... $28-$40 depending on brand/type, including lip glosses (on average). Gorgeous colors (and they smell like roses and berries)!

A few years back MAC had a Disney Princess eye shadow and lip gloss line. I gotta say, I bought the eyeshadow named "pixie dust" and it was and still is the prettiest, longest lasting eyeshadow ever. But, of course, it was MAC.

Now I'm gonna have to check out the lip glosses in France!:D

I'm interested to see what brand is actually producing the line. Done well, there will be a market for it.

Details for the March 2nd release have been announced and has indicated some of the product pricing:

Disney Vault 28 at the Disneyland Resort will be celebrating the release of this new line with a little help from makeup artists and nail technicians who will be performing mini-makeovers and offering tips on how to apply these new color palettes from 11 a.m.–3 p.m.

Visiting the Walt Disney World Resort? Perfect timing! Makeup artists will also be on hand at Tren-D in Downtown Disney Marketplace at the Walt Disney World Resort from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. to showcase some of the new hues, offer insight and tips on application techniques, and create a color card, so you can remember how to apply the eyeshadow and lip gloss when you get home. Tip: Look for a special appearance by our very own Disney Parks fashionista, Isabella!

But wait, there’s more … for a limited time only, take advantage of a special purchase-with-purchase opportunity. Spend $40 on the purchase of Beautifully Disney (nail polish, lip gloss, mini nail polish set and/or the eye shadow palette) and purchase a special Beautifully Disney compact for only $10 (regular retail $16.95). Available while supplies last, of course.

The announcement also hinted that first collection would represent "wicked" characters.

Very much so.

I'll never understand the "I personally don't want it, therefore they shouldn't do it" mentality of some people in regards to Disney decisions. Not everything is catered to you. People like different things and that's okay.

This idea will make money. Period.

Knowing zero about makeup, but having a Disney loving wife, I'm sure I'll be buying some at some point. This stuff sounds like a good present from boys to girls. =D

It seems strange to me that they would be doing their own line instead of continuing the partnership with Mac. I would think now they will only get the Disney loving makeup fans instead of drawing from a larger base of existing customers who may not be that into Disney but want to try the new color anyway.

Nonetheless I'm not a huge makeup fan so there are other Disney products that I would rather spend the money on and will just continue touse my regular makeup when I need it.

Well, based on some other responses here, maybe I'm wrong and this will be a lasting endeavor. I guess we'll see. I'm definitely going to be looking for it when I go in April!

I don't wear much makeup these days, but I used to love MAC! If I'd known they had a Disney line I definitely would have gone to check it out. I'm kind of out of the loop these days. Even though I don't wear much anymore, I still think this is a really fun idea. I will definitely be checking it out next time we're there, and if there's something I would wear, I'll buy it.

Thanks for the picture of the compact Christine! I would love to see more pictures as stuff comes out.

This would be more exciting if it meant the return of a concept like Mlle Lafayettes Parfumerie.

I feel the same - I would check it out because I love makeup & the colors could be interesting. But the only way I would buy it would be if everything about it (price, color, ingredients) were comparable or better than what I currently use. Just the knowledge that I would be wearing Disney-branded makeup wouldn't be enough for me to pay more.

I guess I have to see how this is marketed to form an opinion, because my first reaction is WHAT THE HECK!!! Kids don't need makeup...Because I just assume that it's Disney, so the marketing is geared toward children... So I will take a step back and say I can't wait to see how it is marketed/displayed in the parks.
It doesn't strike a chord with me as I am not really a make up kind of girl-but if they are using quality ingredients, mindful manufacturing techniques, and it is being market to the appropriate age group-then I would say Woo Hoo!!
