I Dub Thee Permanent

2/25/13 The Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney Marketplace is expanding its menu. Effective March 4, 2013; the popular location is adding the Holiday sandwich and the Chipotle Chicken Avocado sandwich to its daily, year-round menu. The location's current seasonal items (Mac 'n Cheese, the Chicken Pesto Pomodoro sandwich, and the Mediterranean Pasta Salad) will reportedly be available through April 14th. As noted on the INTERCOT (https://twitter.com/intercot) twitter feed (https://twitter.com/intercot), the Disneyland location confirmed the permanent offering of the Holiday sandwich earlier this month.

LeLight

2/25/13 Le Cellier has made an interesting addition to its dining experience. Guests and Cast have reported that the popular Epcot dining location has introduced backlit menus. The new menus are aimed to be easier to read in the restaurant’s ambiance lighting. Disney currently offers a similar feature on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy cruise ships.

Fair-Weather Fairies

2/18/13 Character Cast have reported that Tinker Bell’s Magical Nook will be changing its offerings later this week. The Meet & Greet location in the Adventureland section of the Magic Kingdom will reportedly replace Periwinkle with Rosetta in the daily offerings beginning February 22, 2013. Tinker Bell will reportedly remain part of the daily offerings.

Meet & Move?

2/18/13 Animal Kingdom Cast have reported that the Pocahontas Meet & Greet has moved from the Camp Minnie-Mickey section of the park. The Pocahontas Meet & Greet can now be found along the “Bradley Falls” trail located between the Africa and Asia sections. Pocahontas will be available at this new location for Meet & Greets daily at 10:00 am, 10:55 am, 11:50 am, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Cast have not reported if this is a temporary or permanent change.

Time to Choose

2/13/13 The Magic Kingdom is helping Guests choose between their transportation options when they leave the park. Wait time screens are being installed into the signage for the Express Monorail and the Ferry Landing. The new screens will let Guests know their expected wait time till boarding the express monorail or ferry.

Oh, there you are Perry … and Dr. Doof

2/3/13 Several Epcot snack kiosks have unveiled a new line of Agent P and Dr. Doofenshmirtz themed snacks. The Fife and Drum Tavern, Promenade Refreshments, and Cool Post now offer an Agent P cookie pop, a “Doofenslurper” slushy, and a “Power Pack” kids meal. The Agent P cookie pop is an iced sugar cookie on a stick bearing the beaked agent’s likeness for $2.99 and is available as a Disney Dining Plan snack credit. The Power Pack kids meal is a souvenir Agent P lunch box filled with an Uncrustables sandwich, yogurt, carrot sticks, and a juice box for $7.99. The Doofenslurper slushy comes in one of three flavors, is topped with passion fruit sorbet foam, and is served in a souvenir Erlenmeyer Flask for $8.99. The Fife and Drum Tavern features the blue raspberry flavor, Promenade Refreshments features the lemonade flavor, and Cool Post features the strawberry flavor. A non-souvenir version without the passion fruit foam is also available for $3.99.

Contemporary Changes

2/3/13 The Walt Disney World Resort has announced that the popular California Grill at the Contemporary Resort will re-open with some changes in Late Summer 2013. The lengthy refurbishment will allow for a full interior refurbishment of the dining space and the formation of a new menu. Some details of the new menu have been released and can be found in the Dining Forum (http://www.intercot.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=197432).

In The Loop

2/3/2012 The construction application for the expansion of the Magic Kingdom bus loop has been approved by the South Florida Water Management. Additionally, Transportation Cast have reported that this expansion is part of several changes coming to the Walt Disney World bus fleet. The fleet will soon don a new red and silver color scheme and feature new reflective features for enhanced visibility at night; the first of which has already been spotted in use. Cast have also confirmed that the previously tested articulated buses are being permanently added to the fleet. A firm time table for these upgrades has not been reported, but some Cast expect the enhancements to be rolled out through Summer 2013.

1/14/13 Guests may soon find travel to and from the Magic Kingdom to be less congested. The Walt Disney World resort has filed a construction application with the South Florida Water Management District to build a third bus loop. If approved, the new bus loop would be located between the two existing bus loops and the shore of the Seven Seas Lagoon. In addition to adding capacity for additional buses, it appears the third loop would better allow for the larger, articulated buses that have previously been tested. A time table for the construction has not been reported.

InnovenChange

2/3/13 See Agent C's Review (http://www.intercot.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=197347) of the re-opened exhibit in the Theme Parks forum.

1/19/13 Habit Heroes has re-opened in Innoventions East after a lengthy closure. The new exhibit features Guests being recruited to fight non-human, impressionistic characters representing effects such as dehydration (flames) and inactivity (boulders) with “weapons” such as water and exercise. The exhibit still features three interactive rooms.

2/27/12 The new Habit Heroes exhibit at Innoventions East in Epcot closed on February 25th. An official announcment has not been released regarding the closure, but Epcot Cast are reporting that the closure is likely for a re-work and not a permanent closure.

2/23/12 Earlier this month a new exhibit opened at Innoventions East in Epcot. The Habit Heroes exhibit presented by Florida Blue and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield aims to teach healthy lifestyles for Guests of all ages. The exhibits features an interactive blaster game where Will Power and Callie Stenics help Guests battle villains such as “The Snacker” and “Sweet Tooth”.

I'm not sure why they're touting the agent P Snacks as new? They've been around since F&WF?

But all of the sudden it's all over the WDW blog etc

So glad to hear about the transportation wait times. On our last trip, staying at the poly, it was quite the guessing game every night with tired kids how to get them back to the hotel quickest: Resort Monorail, Express Monorail to the TTC and walk to Tokelau, Ferry to TTC, Resort launch. Hey, maybe they could come up with an iPhone app for that ;)
