Our trip to the world in December was awesome and we had a great time except for WDW Transportation Department using contracted coach buses to supplement their equipment. Yes a coach bus is much more comfortable but being a person who uses an electric chair this was a big problem.

Now I have no issue and expect to wait my turn in line but three buses came and went before an accessible bus happened to arrive. Each bus cleared the line completely when they departed except for the three wheel chairs and four scooters the eventually lined up. I was lucky to be in front of the scooter line and waited just over of an hour to board a bus that could hold two ECV’S or chairs. To add to the wait was the bus exhaust of the loading coach blew right on the chair line.

I am lucky I drive down and have the option driving our van to the parks but for people who fly and stay they are at the mercy of the transportation system.

Never in all the years had I ever had a problem with the bus system and when I complained they just seemed surprised their bus contractor could not accommodate handicapped passengers.

I hope this is not a trend and Disney has always been a great place for accessibility.

Sorry that you had such a bad experience. This isn't just a problem in this particular area, services and amenities have declined dramatically over the past 5 years or so while at the same time prices are increasing at a rate about triple to quadruple inflation. What you are witnessing is pure corporate greed and mismanagement. It is no wonder their attendance numbers are down or flat at best.

We haven't experienced the problem with contracted buses, but have had issues in the past. We typically stay at the deluxe resorts, which happen to share buses. There has been many a time we were the second or third stop for a bus, and it was nearly full prior to getting to us. We have waited multiple buses because of this. Needless to say, whenever I have my dad in his ECV with us, we either drive down to WDW to have our own car or will rent one there. Much less hassle for us.
