In the what the heck department, from the Orlando Sentinel late last night:

A Walt Disney World janitor found three hand grenades at Downtown Disney Wednesday, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

Investigators said the hollowed-out grenades posed no danger. They were found in a parking lot in an area open only to employees about 7:30 p.m., authorities said.

Deputies removed them about 10 p.m. and said they would blow them to be certain they couldn't hurt anyone.

The Sheriff's Office and Disney said the shopping and entertainment complex is operating normally.

"There was minimal disruption to guests," Disney spokeswoman Kathleen Prihoda said.

Every other Twitter/Site is treating this like there was a live grenade that was planted next to World of Disney.

Thanks for the REAL info

Real or not, in light of recent events this was poor taste for whomever brought them on property.

Then again, it's poor taste in general...

So weird. My favorite comment I've seen on it so far

"...some paperweights turn into a $60,000 disposal operation exercise...."

Part of Limited Time Magic: For a limited time, you can experience the dangers of military operations here at the Walt Disney World Resort... Or, it was a disgruntled Pleasure Island fan...

On a serious note, what was this person thinking? Wait, never mind, he or she wasn't...

Now, if it was found in the parking lot of Cast Members only, does that mean it was planted by a CM? Or obviously someone that ONLY has access to the CM parking lot?! I mean, is it possible for any old person to get access there, I would think not?

My first thought was not so sinister. I was thinking maybe they were some harmless props that got away, fell out of a box or something. Props for what, I have no idea. So maybe not as innocent as I was thinking at first.

These are sold on Amazon as paper weights, as stated above.

Downtown Disney. I guess because it's free to go there...

When I was working in FL a few years ago I remember a young couple tried to sue Disney claiming they were kidnapped while visiting DTD. The story didn't jive and police eventually got the real story- they cooked up a plot thinking they could say this then sue.
