Adding the Dining Plan on check in

Right now my family is doing a resort only vacation. we are buying our tickets seperately.

We decided to just stay on property and explore other parts of Orlando as well as going to WDW.

If we decided to, could we add the dining plan when we check in? or does it have to come as part of a package?

The DDP has to be added as part of a package at least 10 days before you arrive.

You can't just add the dining plan to a resort reservation, it has to be part of a package, including tickets, in advance.

It sounds like (especially if you're going to explore outside of Disney) that the dining plan might not be a great fit anyways. If you'd like to "prepay" your meals (one of the "perks" of the dining plan), you can load up a gift card, and use that to pay for food at Disney.
