Hello! Just wondering where exactly the "VIP" viewing area for Illuminations is that comes with the Candlelight Processional dining package - we're doing the package for lunch and the 5:00pm show, and I'm trying to make late dinner reservations somewhere near the viewing area.

Thanks!

The VIP viewing area is across the World Showcase lake. If America is 12:00 then the viewing area is directly opposite at 6:00, basically just left of the Christmas tree and small souvenir shop.

For us, we did the 8:15 show, and by the time we had retrieved our stroller and gotten all our stuff together, we just decided to watch it from the Candlelight stage area.

Thanks! So basically, the big space between Mexico and Canada, at the main entrance into World Showcase? Sounds like dinner at La Hacienda would work! :mickey:

Using this package was the first time we had ever viewed Illuminations and it was an amazing show from the VIP area!! Also allowed you a quick exit from the park before the mass amount of people charged the busses.

We just did this a couple of nights ago with the VIP viewing area. As the Hitchhiking Ghost explained it is at 6:00 location. It's right next to/in back of the Gift Shop there. The area is sloped there so when you sit down, you don't have to worry much about someone blocking your view. They did not allow standing in that area either.

When we were there, about 2 minutes before Illuminations started, they opened up the rope area just in front of the rail and we were able to move up right to the front, but had to remain sitting.

It was definitely worth going there to view Illuminations. Recommend getting there about 30 minutes before though. :mickey:

One thing to keep in mind, watch the wind direction. It can be the perfect viewing area, but if the wind is strong enough and blowing in that direction, a lot of the effect can be lost as you end up viewing the fireworks thru the smoke haze of the previous blasts. This holds true for any viewing area, but if the wind is blowing in towards the VIP area, you may wish to rethink.
