I had an abnormal pap smear, so my doctor did biopsies. It came back as severe dysplasia, so I need a LEEP procedure which is scheduled for December 12. I realize things could be much worse and am very grateful that we caught it early. I'm feeling very overwhelmed though, since I'm just getting back to some semblance of normal life. Prayers would be very much appreciated. Also, if anyone knows about this procedure, could you fill me in a little? Thanks.

It's good they caught it early and is proof for others on how important it is to have yearly check-ups. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this stressful time. :pixie::pixie::pixie:

I am sorry I don't have any info  but I will keep you in my prayers!!

My mom has ovarian cancer so I am always reminding my sisters to keep those yearly checkups as unpleasant as they can be for us gals! Good for you for being proactive!

Wishing you all the best and sending you LOTS of pixie dust!! :pixie::pixie::pixie:

My sister had a LEEP procedure done several years ago. She is fine, and it was a very minor procedure. She just had her first baby in June (normal delivery), and everything is looking good.

Don't stress too much about it. It's a very common and non invasive procedure.

I do not know what a LEEP is but I had a biopsy of my cervix when i was 20. They did not medicate me and I did not feel a thing.
Everything was ok but the wait was hard.
Pixie dust for you.

I have assisted on quite a few of these proceedures when I was working for the fertility/gyn specialist. You should do just fine. Feel free to PM me for any details on the proceedure.
