Silly question but what do these two mean?

??? What is Subsidized and Non-subsidized? EEK, those are pretty high increase for a "new" resort, no? Isn't Aulani only a year old?

When they originally announced Aulani the dues were set at the lower price. If I remember correctly during construction they found an error in the accounting and needed to up the dues. I think the person responsible lost his job. They agreed to subsidize (or grandfather) dues for those that had already bought in. Anyone purchasing after had to pay the higher dues. Since the subsidized have a great % increase, it looks like they will eventually end up with one dues structure there, IMO.

I got my notification (booklet) for the Villas at the Grand Californian. They said to multiply my points by $4.5752 to get my yearly dues.

Hmmm.. Steamed Cheese is actually pretty good. A steamed sheeseburger from World Famous Ted's Steamed Cheeseburgers is DELICIOUS! They also sell a Double Hot Cheese which is just steamed cheese on a roll, that's good as well.

As I've said before, these dues don't sit well. Appears the newer resorts are seeing pretty large increases in dues, which makes me think the shady math that was used on Aulani was used on those as well, but nobody wants to fess up. I had heard that the larger resorts were supposed to have better maintenance fees since they can spread tem out over more members/points. That seems to be the opposite of what's happening...

I agree, when we bought VWL we were told they had higher dues because of the limited number of units. I wonder too if the excessive amounts of foreclosures on BLT/AKV have anything to do with the increases.

I received my booklet for my OKW addition on Saturday and the dues per point were 5.3447. Still waiting for SSR.

Received my Hilton Head Island dues notification and it is $6.0213 as you reported.

Haven't got my bill for our dues at OKW, but DizneyRox is right about Ted's steamed cheeseburgers. My wife and I got to try them this summer and they were out of this world! We also hit Pepe's and Sally's in New Haven, the pizza capital of the world IMHO.

That was also a "selling point" to us. Perhaps that is why our sales rep no longer works for the company.

This makes me grumpy (and I was already hungry). I think with these resorts they would be better served bumping the cash per night than making the owners unhappy.

DRox had mentioned the perhaps BLT is encountering the same snafu that Aulani did which is one possibility. The added front desk at BLT may add something but I'm not sure how much you could attribute to that. It will be itemized in your booklet, please report back and let us know.
