If you have never been to the Orlando Science Center and have an extra day in the area it is well worth the trip.

We did not want to spend a day on our park hoppers since we slept in pretty late after MNSSHP. We spent Wednesday at the OSC and had a really nice time. DSs 6 and 9 really loved it. It wasn't crowded at all. It was a really nice low-key day.

Right now there is a brand new Star Wars exhibit. They have models and costumes from the movies as well as some cool hands on exhibits. We had to drag our kids out. Star Wars is not included with the standard admission. It was around $27 for adults. Well worth it if you are a big fan.

In the main part of the OSC there were a ton of hands on exhibits. The center is sort of dated and worn but it did not bother us. We easily spent most of they day there. The also have movies that are shown on a dome- like screen that has is comparitive to IMAX screens in size. DD(2) fell asleep in my lap when we went to the movie. I sat through all three of the films while she slept and enjoyed all of them.

If you get one of those free Orlando Magic cards you can get buy one get one free tickets for the OSC. The discount is not valid for the Star Wars Experience.

I didn't even know this place existed. My boys love that kind of thing so we may have to keep that in mind for a future trip.

Our local Science Center had a Star Wars exhibit a few years ago. It was a "traveling" exhibit so I'm wondering if the one in Orlando is the same stuff we had here a few years ago. My husband and youngest son are huge Star War fans, and they really enjoyed it while it was here in our area.

I would assume it is the same one.

Thanks for posting about OSC, we headed there yesterday after reading your review and LOVED it! Because it was New Year's Eve we were worried about crowds because of area tourists, etc - no crowd at all! My kids all had a great time and we were there from 1045-5:00. My kids are 2, 6, and 9. We started with the Star Wars exhibit and moved around from there. One of their favorite activities was in 'the orange grove'; we always visit the Florida's Natural orange juice factory and they enjoy that, so the activities as OSC really interested them. There was so much for all of them that we could have spent more time there, there hours were only 10-5 though and we had over an hours drive to get there. Thanks!
