I didn't see this anywhere and wasn't sure if it should go here or in the Disneyland section.

ANAHEIM -- A Disneyland worker remains hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a Space Mountain roller coaster.

The Orange County Register says the 68-year-old machinist remains in a critical-care unit.

He suffered head, chest and back injuries as he worked on the ride on Oct. 3. The ride vehicles can reach 30 mph.

Disneyland Resort spokeswoman Suzi Brown says the ride didn't malfunction and was back in operation the next day.

The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health is investigating the accident.

Wow this is sad. Hope he has a speedy recovery. Why was he on the track when the ride was running??

When we went in December 2011, we rode space mountain and we all vowed never to do it again. Hello neck pain and headache! It was too dark in there and we were jerked around quite a bit. :ack:

At first read, this sounds like it could be another failure of following lock out tag out rules. How awful. I hope the injured person recovers!
