And what I learned recently is that if you're served by an airport at which Southwest is one of the few carriers, a small airport, sometimes the other carrier(s) there will have the same sale, just not advertised. I learned that recently when Southwest had a huge sale to WDW, about half of what I usually pay. But their times weren't great, so just for the heck of it, I checked fares on the only other carrier that flies from our airport, figuring the difference in price might convince me that the times on Southwest weren't so bad. Surprisingly the other carrier (United) had the exact same fares for that time, and I didn't have any luggage to check so there was no price difference. So if you're interested in other airlines (maybe more convenient times), check for the same dates as Southwest.

Just did the math and we got our flights $180.00 cheaper the day they were released than this discount.

Wow, what am I missing here? Booked two Providence to Orlando seats back in June for $599.20. Just checked on the "40-percent off" deal and the price is $723.20. Thanks a lot Southwest! I think we'll be booking with Jet Blue in the future.

For anyone that's checking fares: the discounted fare will not come up unless you enter the promo code in the search box.
