Taking a short trip to Cleveland next week- arriving Thursday and leaving Saturday. We're going to the Indians game Friday night and plan to spend Friday day at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. So...what to do on Thursday? We are two forty-somethings who are up for anything. Thanks for any ideas!

Check out the Kalihara resort near Canton - huge watermark. Also candy shop - makes the candy they sell at Hallmark stores. Can't remember the name but they have a nice store. Also, first lady museum - the outfits are worth a visit.

If you check the visitors guide for the area, all 3 should show up. Have fun!

Go to Michael Simon's restaurant Lola there.

If you are into art, go to the Art Museum in University Circle. Also could check out the Auto Musuem in University Circle.

Go shopping at Galleria.

Have Fun and Go Indians!!!!

Lola is fabulous imho; the beef cheek pierogi would be the appetizer for my last meal.

I suggest keeping expectations reasonable for your trip to the Rock Hall.

Depending on how much time you have, I would also suggest going to Cedar Point (which an hour west in Sandusky) as it is consistently ranked the best amusement park in the whole wide world. Just don't expect something similar to Disney magic when it comes to theming, lol.

Finally, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is also a favorite of mine

Another vote for Lola.. can't miss.
The new Horseshoe Casino is a 5 minute walk (at the most) from it too, if you're into gambling.

Also, if you're a fan of ice cream, Cleveland might as well be Utopia, Shangri-La, or whatever you wan't to call it.

Jeni's in the village of Chagrin Falls (about 30 minutes southeast of Cleveland) is pricey and non-traditional ($5 for a cone, and don't expect Cookie Dough as a flavor), but will knock your socks off.
Chagrin Falls is so charming that it's almost worth a visit on it's own.

Honey Hut (numerous locations in the Cleveland area) is incredible, and super inexpensive.

Mitchell's Homemade is just as good, and also has numerous locations in Cleveland.

Add Handel's and East Coast Custard to the list as well!

People who think the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor or Beaches & Cream have good ice cream defnitely haven't been to Cleveland. ;)
