We are going to be flying to WDW on our upcoming trip and plan to take just carry-on luggage (hope that works out ok).

My question is this: will I have any trouble getting my trading pins through the security? I really wasn't thinking this would be an issue until my DH brought it up.

Dh is a big collector and we've never had a problem with security. You should be fine.

Too funny, I was just getting on to ask this exact question! Would rather carry on a bulk amount of pins over packing them.

On my return trip home, I had a few pins with my carryon and had no problem.

I always pack my pins and lanyard in my carryon. I have never had any problems.

Once a bought a framed promo print that included pins and it fit in my carryon - when they scanned it it must've looked weird so they sent it through back and forth a few times but never opened up my bag and never asked me what they were.

You should not have any issues! We always carry pins (for trade on our outbound flights & to add to our collections at home on the returns) in our carry-ons (for safe keeping) and never had an issue.
