Are more people getting through on cell phones or home phones? Wasn't sure if the problem of it being so busy is due to cell phone towers or the Disney incoming lines themselves.

How long do you keep trying until you realize it is fruitless and give up?

Yeah, I just tried the number again and it's still busy. I've been dialing on a cell phone when I tried this morning.

I started at 7, and finally got through at 8:30. Once in the queue it said greater than 60 minute wait. At 9 my wife called the DVC number and 10 min later she had a reservation on 12/9 for be our guest.

If anyone is a DVC member I highly recommend booking through them!

is it because that would have made sense?

why didnt they open online today? As hinted at in the other thread, probably so people wanting other restaurants can do so without the system crashing.

Which makes sense, BUT not sure why they didn't hold to the 12 noon time they originally announced for BOG so the folks wanting other ADRs this morning could have gotten through.

Keep trying. It's much easier to get through on that line eventually. Good luck.

IMHO these should have been released on a staggered schedule. X/XX/20012- Y/Y/2012 can book today, next set tomorrow and so on. But since they do not seem to be capable of such in the IT dept, we end up with a huge FAIL.

Be our guest, be our guest,
Put our phonelines to the test.
Keep on dialing 'cause you might get through
Then we'll provide the rest.

You're upset and you're scared,
Now you know we weren't prepared,
For the calls that we've been getting,
So you're dialing and you're fretting...

What is the DVC number? My Mom is a DVC member and didn't know there was a seperate number she could call for dining reservations.
Thanks!

Well, that just about knocks me out. Another posted that late Nov-Dec2 is out, and now Dec 4-7 is out. Sounds like I won't be getting a reservations. They run their dining system like a DMV. The term "good enough for government work" comes to mind right now.

I can also tell you that Dec 13-15 between 3pm and 7pm is not available at this moment.

With the opening on the 6th, I am sure that they are setting time aside for the opening events, VIP's etc.

I know how important Disney trips are to everyone, but please keep in mind this is one meal at one dining venue. In the big scheme of things, is it "The all and end all"?

We all had great trips before without it and I am sure we will all have great trips again.

It took me probably 200 tries spread out over a7 hour time frame, but I FINALLY got through and made my ADR. I booked a table for 4 at 5:30 on January 4th. I just hope it's worth all of this hype and frustration!

I would classify this as the Reservation Event of the Century. A new MK dining choice (finally) in the middle of new Fantasyland. With 10 years of studying WDW, and about 9 years of gleaning information here, I was hoping that I would be able to land this REotC.

Will my trip be great? Yes. Do I still get to eat at some nice places? Yes. Did I miss out on a chance of a lifetime? Absolutely, and I don't like it. In fact, I hate it and I'm pretty ticked at Disney Dining today. I think all of us who missed out are within reasonable expectations to be upset. We wasted a lot of time to get nothing, while others claim to have gotten ADRs for 10+ with ease.

My trip will still be great. But today, I'm upset that I've spent years here gleaning information, and it amounted to nothing for this important event. And I think I'm done venting for now.

I understand people's frustration, if I don't get chef mickey's for our upcoming trip for my son, I will be upset; however, there is always our next trip.

Let's remember that BOG is not closing after the holiday season. There is always next trip, no matter when that will be.

Enjoy the ADRs you do have.

The good news for everyone that could not get dinner reservations is you can still eat there for lunch as CS with no need for a reservation.
