We have just arrived at the ten day mark until we arrive at Disney and have been offered the option of the early check in. This is (I believe) something new since the last time we were down.
Is this of any advantage? I remember the check in process was always pretty smooth and short in the past anyway.
Also, we have 2 reservations, the first being for just one night and the second for the balance of our stay. I am being offered check in for just the one night stay. Does this matter?
Thanks for any insight you can provide.

You would do online check-in for your first reservation today and then for your second tomorrow.

The advantage is you don't have to spend time giving info to the CM at check-in. It's all there. Just take your packet and go. If you're one who is real specific about room location or have questions, don't use the online check-in line, but if you just want to pick up your packet and go, it's perfect. The big advantage I've noticed with it is that almost every check-in (all but 2) I've used it my room has been ready when I checked-in since it does have a place where it asks timing on your check-in. That's especially nice on your second check-in since you'll probably be trying to do that early.

As you said, check-in usually go smoothly. With that said...If you have any unique request with your Resort, Room, building preference, pool, etc...at the suggestion from our vacation specialist from MJ, Don't do the on-line check-in, it takes you out of the loop to discuss your accommodation if needed. If you are "take what your assigned" OK, then you'd be fine with the On-Line check-in. :number1:

I just finished paying off our trip in september and I called today to put in our requests (simple-ish ones--Bway or Rock Inn as preferred sections)

but MY question: if I opt to do online check in, will those things go out the window? Will they still be noted, or should I do regular check-in to keep those requests intact?

Online check-in won't impact your requests at all.

Thank you :D! I love expediting the process but at the same time I would be willing to wait in cue if it was necessary. Good to know I don't have to though! :D

Did online check-in last december... worked like a charm. The only slow down at the Poly was we had to wait to be presented with our honeymoon offical wedding Lei's
