July 27, 1955 – Future Disney Legend Bill “Sully” Sullivan officially started working at Disneyland in Anaheim, Ca. (Three years later he would become a part of Disney management and work on the Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley and the New York World’s Fair. Eventually Sullivan would be relocated to Florida to assist with the opening of WDW.)
July 27, 1956 – The Disney cartoon “In the Bag” directed by Jack Hannah and filmed in CinemaScope was released.
July 27, 1962 – The Firehouse Five Plus Two (a spare time musical group made up of writers, animators, producers, and directors at the Walt Disney Studios) were recorded live at the Golden Horseshoe in Disneyland, and the performance would be recorded and released by Good Time Jazz Records.
July 27, 1986 – The Disney/Touchstone film “Ruthless People” was released.
July 27, 1989 – Disney’s Educational film “The United Ntions” part of the Mickey’s Field Trip series was released.
July 27, 2005 – Disney announced that David Vixie, an 8th grade Humanities Teacher from Paradise, Ca. has been named the 2005 Teacher of the Year.
July 27, 2005 – The Disney film “Invincible” was released.
July 27, 2006 – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers returned for their 4th year of training camp at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex at WDW.
July 27, 2007 – The Performance Car Expo and Driving Competition event “Rev It Up 2007” was held in the parking lot of Epcot at WDW (2-day event)
July 27, 2010 – “D23,” the official Disney fan club gave members the chance to be the last to go on “Star Tours” before it closed for rehab at Disneyland.
