We are headed to WDW on July 30 and will be there for 11 nights. This will be a our first time staying at Saratoga Springs and we have reserved a 2BDRM villa. We initially thought we wanted to request Congress Park for its views and proximity to DTD. We have been reading, though, and some seem to say that the buses don't come often and that Congress Park is near the end of the stops at the resort so the buses tend to be full. That being said, which area of the resort would you recommend and why? Are there benefits to other areas? Thanks!:mickey:

We have been reading lately about terrible issues here with the buses and non-resort guests walking to the resort and using them. I have heard that The buses stop at Grandstand first. If this is so, how long of a walk is it from the Grandstand to DTD. We want to make sure we request the building that is right for us.:mickey:

As a member of DVC, my home resort is SSR. As a forewarning, if you have ever been to Saratoga Springs NY and expect it to resemble it quite a bit... don't get your hopes up. I am from Saratoga Springs and NOTHING is like my beautiful town.

I can tell you though, our FAVORITE section of the resort is definitetly the Paddock. It is much quieter and the pool is great!

Our preference would be Congress Park, but during our first stay the resort was not yet completed, so " bus issues" did not really come into play. We stayed at the Paddock when it was brand new. Great location ---- but long walk to main resort facilities IMHO. A car would have been nice to have.

Our experience with the bus transportation since then has not been great. Perhaps just bad luck.

I have read also the issue with DTD guests walking over to SSR to catch buses. I don't understand why though, if the objective is to avoid the parking fees at the parks they could still catch the buses at the DTD bus stops. Maybe the extra transfer at a resort is too much of an inconvenience for avoiding the parking fee?

I prefer a room over in the Paddock near the new pool. However, in past years, I like to get a room near one of the 'quiet pools.' They are a godsend at the end of the day when my feet need both the heat of the jacuzzi AND the cool of the pool!
