July 11, 1984 – Nearly 400 Cast Members stood before Sleeping Beauty Castle to celebrate Disneyland’s 30th anniversary. The Cast Members were photographed as part of a marketing campaign.
July 11, 1985 – Disney’s Documentary Featurette “Follow Us…to Walt Disney World” was released in England.
July 11, 1986 – The Paris, France Regional Council approved plans for a Disneyland style amusement park in Marne-LaValee.
July 11, 1986 – The Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour debuted in Fantasyland at Tokyo Disneyland.
July 11, 1987 – The Disney Gallery (featuring a collection of original artist paintings) opened in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square.
July 11, 1989 – Actor David Henrie was born in Los Angeles, Ca. Disney Channel fans know him as Larry on “That’s So Raven,” and Justin Russo on “Wizards of Waverly Place.”
July 11, 1991 – Disney announced it would enter into a distribution deal with a Bay area digital studio named Pixar. Together they would go to make the films, “Toy Story,” Toy Story 2,” and “A Bug’s Life.”
July 11, 1993 – The Disney short television series “Cutters” began airing on CBS-TV. (Ended July 9, 1993)
July 11, 1997 – At Disneyland’s New Orleans Square, “Looking at the Future Tomorrowland: 1955 – 1998,” debuted in honor of the Disney Gallery’s 10th Anniversary.
July 11, 1998 – Jodi Benson (the voice of Disney’s Little Mermaid) appeared at WDW for the first of a 2-day visit. She made a special appearance in the morning at The Art of Disney (located in Downtown Disney Marketplace) to meet fans and sign Mermaid artwork purchased at the shop. In the evening she performed a concert backed by an orchestra at the America Gardens Theater in Epcot.
