If our flight leaves out of MCO at 3:55pm in Oct what time would Magical Express pick us up at the Contemporary Hotel. Looking to see if we have time from checkout to go swimming before the bus arrives.

They'll schedule your pickup time for approx. 3 hours before your flight. So in this case, roughly 12:55.

we came home this past sunday

had a 2:15pm flight and DME pickup time was at 11:20am so about 3 hours is correct

As long as it's a domestic flight, then yes, ABOUT 3 hours before flight time. It's 3 hours, plus or minus 20 minutes.

The "plus or minus" is because each resort gets DME pick-ups (if there are reservations for pick-ups) twice an hour, 30 minutes apart, like :00 and :30 after every hour, or :10 and :40 after every hour, etc.

I don't know Contemporary's schedule, but let's say it gets DME pick-ups at :05 and :35 after every hour. This means your scheduled time will be either 12:35 p.m. or 1:05 p.m.

But that is exactly how it gets scheduled, and it's why your ride is scheduled ROUGHLY 3 hours before your flight time ... if they scheduled it for exactly 3 hours before, they might have to run 10 buses to every resort some hours, to account for all the different flight times.
