We're going back to the world! And this time I promise to actually finish an entire week's worth of trip reports!
Cast:
DMIL and DFIL (Took DH to The World 20 years ago but haven't been back)
DH (Plex... fellow Intercotee and WDW Obsessor)
Me! (Obsessed with all things Disney since 1988)
The idea for this trip came about because we wanted to thank our parents for helping us with our wedding last year. My parents are a bit "Disneyed Out," as they took my sisters and I so frequently growing up, and we are planning to take them to Vero Beach at some point in the future, instead. However, DH's parents have not been to The World in quite some time and are VERY excited for Disney with adults. We are excited to spend quality time with them (and of course, to go to Disney as well)!
We fly out of Bradley in 12 days (!!!!!!!!!!) and are going to have 8 glorious days of parks, food and fun! We made all of our reservations as soon as we were able and are revisiting favorites like California Grille, 50s Primetime and Le Cellier, and trying some new places, like Whispering Canyon, The Grand Floridan Cafe and others. We also booked a Wishes Desert Party, tickets for Cirque de Soeil and the Hoop Dee Do Review. Although the schedule is jam packed we built in plenty of time for relaxing (including spa manicures and pedicures for us ladies and plenty of pool time).
One interesting challenge we may encounter on this trip is that my husband and I have started eating quite differently in recent months (low, low carb, no processed foods) and when we stray from this diet, we tend to not feel too well. We aren't planning to be completely strict about it on this trip, but we are going to have to be smart or it could make for some long days. No way I'm leaving without school bread and a Dole Whip though :secret:.
We are going to be staying in the Villas at Wilderness Lodge, which is another first for us. In fact, neither of us have ever even been inside Wilderness Lodge at all so we are quite excited for the stay!! Although we are normally night-owls in the parks, DH's parents are morning-people so we will likely see park open each day, nap, and then hit evening EMH's after we are rested again. It is a change up from the norm, but well worth it to spend the week together as a family :mickey:.
I'm sure DH (Plex) will chime-in with corrections and add-ons at some point. In the meantime, the countdown is ON and we can't wait!!! :cloud9:
