***Early Admission Hours***
Early admission allows certain Guests entry on specific days into select attractions, stores, entertainment and dining locations at Disneyland or Disney California Adventure or Mickey’s Toontown one hour before opening to the public.

Early admission options include:
• Extra Magic Hour
For registered Disneyland Resort Hotel Guests. EMH is available every day during a hotel stay ~~ Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at Disneyland and Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday at Disney California Adventure. Valid park ticket and active hotel room key card are required for early admission to the parks.
• Magic Mornings at Disneyland
For Guests with an advance purchase 3-day or longer theme park ticket, with an advance purchase special promotional “bonus” ticket, or with a 2012 Southern California CityPass. Magic Morning is available on one day during the duration of ticket/pass ~~ Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday at Disneyland. One of the three valid park tickets is required for early admission to Disneyland.
• Mickey’s Toontown Morning Madness
For Guests who have booked a Disneyland vacation package online through the Walt Disney Travel Company and have included either a 3-day or longer theme park ticket or a 2012 Southern California CityPass. Toontown Morning Madness is available on one day during stay ~~ Monday, Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday at Disneyland’s Toontown. One of the two valid park tickets and a Mickey’s Toontown Morning Madness voucher is required for early admission to Toontown.

To participate in early admission, Guests must have a valid theme park ticket specific to the early admission option – for example, a select Disneyland Resort Vacation Package or special Disneyland Resort Ticket that include early admission.

To enhance the early admission experience, it is strongly recommended that Guests arrive at least one hour and 15 minutes prior to regular park opening. Early admission is non-transferable and does not guarantee access to any attraction or location. Applicable days and times of operation and all other elements including, but not limited to, operation of attractions, entertainment, stores, restaurants, appearances of Characters, and services may vary and are subject to change without notice. Subject to capacity, cancellation, previously scheduled park events, and other restrictions.

Does anyone know what the story is with October park hours? For a while, the calendar on the Disney website was about six weeks out and continued to add a day as each day passed. But about a week and a half or so ago, once the hours were posted through September 29, it just stopped. And, to date, September 29 remains the latest posted date for park hours. As of the time of this post, park hours are listed only 4 1/2 weeks out. I am going twice in October and am anxious to see the October park hours, particularly since I want to buy tickets to Mickey's Halloween Party, but I am hoping to wait until I see the actual park hours so I can better determine which day I want to go to the party.

I don't know what the problem is. Why WDW can post hours and entertainment schedules over six months out and Disneyland only six weeks simply puzzles me. And now with only FOUR weeks of information . . . that's ridiculous!

Disneyland closes at 8pm M-Th/11pm-12am F-Sun and DCA will close at 6pm M-Th/9pm F-Sun. On days of the Halloween Party Disneyland will be closing at 5pm or 6pm. Another thing to keep in mind is that with the current interest at DCA, the weekday closing hour may be closer to 8pm.

TinkWest, you read my mind. The reason that I am particularly interested in October hours is due to the Halloween party. I will be visiting October 23 - 27 (a Tuesday through Saturday). The Halloween party is Tuesday and Friday during our visit. To add to your comments above about historical October park hours, isn't it also true that on nights when DL has the Halloween party, DCA will stay open later to accommodate guests who will not be attending the Halloween party? Any idea how late DCA typically stays open on Halloween party nights?

Here is my thinking:

I have been to DL / DCA many times, but my wife has not been there for many years. I'd prefer to attend the Halloween party on Friday night rather than Tuesday night because I don't want her first time at DL to be anything other than the "normal" DL. But because park hours generally are later on Fridays than on Tuesdays, it initially seemed to me that we would be able to extend our park time on Tuesday by going to the Halloween party, then our Friday night in DCA would be longer anyway simply due to longer park hours on Fridays. But then it occurred to me that with the Halloween party on Tuesday night, DCA probably would be open later, in which case we still would get to stay later on Tuesday night if we go to DCA, and until midnight at DL on Friday night for the Halloween party. In other words, I think I have convinced myself that we probably would not lose park time by going to DCA on Tuesday night and to the Halloween party on Friday night.

Does that make sense?

Yes, I see what you are saying so I went back in to my "archives" and checked around the dates you are looking at over the past two years. Here's how they averaged.

Disneyland:
Tues, 8am-6pm
Tues Party, 6pm-11pm
Wed, 9am-8pm
Thurs, 9am-8pm
Fri, 8am-7pm
Fri Party, 7pm-12am
Saturday, 8am-12am

DCA:
Tues, 10am-8pm
Wed, 10am-8pm
Thurs, 10am-8pm
Fri, 10am-11pm
Saturday, 10am-10pm

So DCA didn't really stay open later than usual on Tuesday due to the Party, it just stayed open later than Disneyland. By going to the Party on Friday you could lose those late night hours at DCA, unless you are still there on Saturday evening in which case both parks may be open late. Remember . . this is all supposition.

Interesting. Thanks so much for that great information! The variable that could affect DCA hours from the last two years to this year is Cars Land. So at this point, without the hours being out yet, it's just a guess whether the Tuesday 8 p.m. closing time might be later this year due to the popularity of Cars Land.

Could be a Halloween Party for Cast Members. Could be an error. Could be anything. Also, could change so keep a lookout.
