Weird title, I know! The topic has come up a few times about the type of mattresses on the pull out sofas. The suggestion has been to ask for a mattress topper from mousekeeping to make the bed more comfy. The correct wording is key, ask for an egg crate. If you ask for a mattress topper or a foam topper, chances are you won't get what you want.

Disney mattresses do not have egg crates, nor do the Mousekeepers have any. They only have a white topper that goes over the mattress, and it's very thin.

I call that a mattress pad. The "egg crate " is a foam topper(about 3 inches thick) that sits on top of the mattress. It transforms the whimpy pull out mattress into a more substantial, comfy sleeper.

have you gotten these from mousekeeping yourself? Which resorts?

Thanks for the tip

We got several egg crates from mousekeeping for the all of the beds in our 2br villa at BCV in May 2011. The beds there were like concrete slabs! But the egg crates did help some. We specficially asked for egg crates and got just what the OP described - 3-inch foam toppers for the beds.
