Live from vero beach day 5 *photos*

Weather- great all Morning, then in the afternoon the tide kicked WAY up! It has sprinkled just a bit and rumbled a little, but no biggie. Main thing is he rip tide is STRONG and while the surfers loved it, I didn't fare as well. The tide washes you out, then SHOOTS you back to the shore to where you scrape across the shelly ground and on a few instances roll and flip up the beach. I am a scraped up bloody mess but I had a great time. Maybe I'll tell friend's at home That i got attacked by a shark instead of "I can't stand on my own two feet!" Makes for a better story, no?


Dining- had the Sunday brunch at shutters. DELICIOUS & SO much food! Omlette station, Mickey waffles, carving station, buffet ranging from seafood, sushi, pastries, ratatouille, pork loin and blue cheese mashed potatoes, chicken with spinach and shrimp and cheese on top, cheese and salmon plate assortments, macaroni cheese, bacon, sausage, eggs Benedict, and a HUGE dessert table. I didn't even mention it all. Funny enough, the meal ($23.99pp) includes bloody Mary's and mimosas but not juice or coffee. ???
We have used te HECK out of our tables in wonderland here. At bleachers (the pool food court) the green cabin (lounge with light menu) & shutters (table service). I love that thing!
Tonight we will have sonic drive in bc I haven't had that since we lived in Texas 3 years ago! There's one in Orlando, but I rarely leave "the bubble" of celebration and Disney so I have never gone. And frankly I NEED it to be a challenge to get too- its my weakness !

Room- we changed rooms today- could only get ocean view for 4 of our 5 nights. But our new room is lovely and we can still see the ocean just fine on the balcony. Funny thing, I'd have been happy with this room all week to have avoided moving- but it worked out fine. It all got done while we were at brunch.

Then pool time - and DH finally won the Slide race (men's category). He took 1st & 3rd but still didn't set new resort record. We'll be back!

Tomirrow we will slowly check out then hit the beach & pool one last time & have lunch. I'm having my spa treatment at 2, then we hit the road home. It's been a great trip. Can't think of a better way to spend a long weekend though I wonder how it goes by so quick. Seems like yesterday when we just checked in Wednesday.

We visited Vero a year or so ago, and had always planned on getting back sometime for an overnight stay before we moved, but it looks like that's not going to happen. Hopefully in the future.

Mel I sure have not had sonic - Til tonight! Oh boy did I miss it!!! A cherry vanilla come even!
But I miss whataburger even more!

We sat on our balcony and watched the storm roll in. crazy surfers were out there in the lightning catching waves. Nuts!

Christine, I've enjoyed your reports from my favorite DVC resort. Sounds like you had a great time.

BTW, on your drive, if you're taking the route I think you would, you'll be passing right by a Sonic on 192 at Old Canoe Creek Road right here in my little town of St. Cloud - - right by the WalMart.

We always go north on A1A from the resort to Melbourne and pick up 192 West. Maybe not the fastest route, but lots more scenic and relaxing than the big highways.

Another fun day! We were supposed to be at the beach this weekend, but cancelled due to too many other plans over the summer and now I am regretting it. We may have to find a way to sneak in a beach trip anyway!!!
