Points Question

We are considering a DVC purchase in the near future and still trying to learn all the in's and outs of ownership.

Two logistical questions:

1.) No points available currently, new points coming in October (2012-UY), the system will allow me to make a November reservation - - - correct??

2.) Same as above, but want to book a larger room in November and would need to borrow points to book a room at that level. Do I have to borrow the (2013-UY) points before I attempt the reservation or can that be done during the online reservation or over the phone at the time the room is booked??

I love all the knowledge and information on the Intercot Boards - - I'm sure someone already has the answer.

You are correct, if you have a Oct UY, your Nov reservation would use Oct 2012 points. You would be able to make the res as soon as you close.

If you need to borrow from 2013 you can do that with MS while you're on the phone. One thing to remember is once you borrow points they remain in the new UY.
