When does it start getting REALLY crowded in December?

Thinking of taking a trip Dec. 13 - 20 (Th - Th). When will it start getting really busy in the World? We've never in been in December, but want to visit at this time of year! :santa3:

IF you're talking crowded to the point of closing, that's not until around Christmas Day through New Year's. But, for your trip expect it to start getting pretty crowded by Dec 18 or 19. More towards the end of your trip. While December has gotten a lot more crowded, crowds tend to be moderate up until then.

We will also be in Florida from Dec 13 - 27. We will only spend the first week around the WDW area because on past trips we have found the few days right before Christmas to be busier. Especially Magic Kingdom and Downtown Disney :crazy:. We did spend Christmas day in Epcot without any hassles, it was even pleasant.

You should find crowds manageable up till the 21st.

In the past we've found crowds getting pretty heavy by the 17th or 18th as well. We stayed until the 19th one year, and were really shocked at how incredibly packed the parks got by the 17th. We didn't do anything without FP in any park.

We were there this past December, and got out by the 17th. It wasn't terrible. You could see crowds building over the 9 days we were there, but not until the very end I would say moderately heavy.

We were there Dec 15-22 this past December and crowds were very manageable up until the last couple days.

I've read on another site that the best week of the year for 2012 is Dec. 8-15 for low crowds and all of the Christmas decorations being up in the parks and at the resorts.
