Where can I find the best deal on a car rental for our November trip?

No magic to this one. You need to keep checking all the sites. When you find a price you can live with, book it. Then continue to check the car rental sites. Rentals tend to go down as you get closer to your trip and then you reach a point in time, where they begin to go back up again. If you find a lower rate, rebook at the lower rate and cancel your prior reservation. I've rebooked and cancelled several times as prices continued to get lower.

A friend who works in the car rental industry said car rentals are most often less expensive outside airport boundaries. Likely, you still come out ahead if you take a cab to a car rental office NOT located at the airport at which you arranged your rental.

It certainly goes take a ton of constant research to find a livable $.
