Buying Ears for a one yr old

Has anyone bought ears for their one year old? If so which one did you purchase, black or the gender colored ones?

DS16 go his first ears at 7 months complete with his name on the back. They're the classic black but I think that may be all the sold back then. He still has them.

We got the black way back when, and my first pair of ears was also black. I'm partial to keeping with the classic.

My youngest daughter has 3 or 4 from over the years! I think one is a princess theme and one a pirate, from the middle school years.

DD17s were the classic black purchased around her first birthday but 17 years ago we didn't have a choice of colors, at least not at the Disney Store where I purchased them. They also did not have her name on them. DD12 had a full Mickey costume and so did not get her first set of ears until she picked them out for herself on her first trip at age 3. She chose Minnie princess ears.

DS10 was 1 when he got his 1st ears they were black with his name on them.

DS8 was 2 when he picked out a pair of pirate ears.

Classic black for us. In fact we also got the baby's first haircut ears which are black.
