Ok you have to admit it...you know you love it. Of all the "reality" type shows I watch this has quickly become my new favorite. I love the older generation and their "wisdom". My ex-husband is from that town so it is kind of funny to recognize places they go to and stuff. The beaver hunting episode was my fave so far...who else?

To be totally honest, I've never even heard of it. What channel is it on? Based on the title of the show alone, I have no idea why I'd even bother to watch it.

Found this:

A&E Network introduces the Robertsons, a Louisiana bayou family living the American dream as they operate a thriving business while staying true to their family values and lifestyle.

Ask anyone in Louisiana and they'll tell you that the bayou state's favorite first family doesn't live in the governor's mansion but in the backwoods, where the Robertsons' rags-to-riches story is still unfolding. A homegrown mom-and-pop operation, Duck Commander has become a sporting empire by fabricating top-of-the-line duck calls and decoys out of salvaged swamp wood.

Sorry I don't like this show. Watched a few times but couldn't get through a whole show without changing the channel. Maybe it's reality show overload but it seems anyone can get on TV now. I beleive the show claims they are millionaires but I know people in my town who are not millionaires that have nicer homes & toys than these people.

It's not just this show, but all of these people who claim to have "money"...well I'm not buying it anymore. In fact, much of what is said on these reality shows are probably not even the truth. I don't know there are so many of the same type shows they are stating to all look alike to me. History Channel used to be my sons favorite channel, but even now they are over run with reality shows of no real value.

I was involved in a documentary years ago that was shown on the Animal Planet. I learned about what it takes to get a show on TV. Most of these things are shot independantly for very little money. They are "shopped" around to networks to see if anyone will "pick them up". Anyone can do these if you have the right equipment and any claims can be made. I could have used a fake name...who would have known.

I do watch a few reality shows but I don't care for this one and find my interest in them in general starting to fade because most are so way over the top mindless. Sorry for the rant.

I've only seen one episode because we don't have cable, but from what I saw, I loved it! I'm a sucker for reality shows like this (i.e. Billy the Exterminator, Call of the Wildman). It's kind of an off-the-wall reality show that makes me laugh. They are just a hilarious family, and it makes for great guilty-pleasure entertainment. Glad someone started a thread on this!
