2 questions actually:

Does anyone know if there is a Wal-mart close by that wouldn't cost too much by taxi and if anyone has taken a taxi there how much and same goes for Universal Studio's -- how do you get there from DisneyWorld (bus, taxi, shuttle).

Thank you so very much for your help.

The closest WalMart is on SR 535 (Apopka-Vineland Road) 3 miles south of Hotel Plaza Blvd or 1 mile south of World Center Drive. It is a Super WalMart, with a very large grocery section as well as general merchandise. Can't help you on the cost of taxi fare.

5years ago, 7 of us took a taxi to universal and it was 60 bucks roundtrip. Allow for inflation and this can give you an idea

Not a Walmart, but there's a Target nearby that some of my groomsmen and I raided last year for some last minute supplies. (do a google map search) As a bonus, you get to make fun of all the tourist trap stores on the street leading to it.

BWAWAHAHAHA ORANGE WORLD!

HOLY POO LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT WIZARD ON THAT GIFT SHOP! LOLOLOLOLOL

There also is a newer Wal-Mart on Palm Parkway/Turkey Lake Road. It is probably closer to Universal, but is still one of the Closest WMs to WDW.

We always stop at Target before heading into the World.

The Target is on Highway 429 and County Road 535. It's about 12 miles from the Western Way Gate.

DH and DS rented a small car on their trip to drive to Universal and buy groceries from Target. DH said it was $50 for the day. There is a rental place in WDW.
