3 month old infant counted for ADR's?

We will have a 3 month old infant (probably strapped in the Baby Bjorn the whole time) with us dining at Ohana.

Do I have to include the 3 month old when making ADR's? If so, why is that? Is it because they figure you might use a seat for a high chair or for an infant carrier?

What happens if you accidentally book the ADR for the wrong amount of people? Do they turn you away? I've never had that happen before, but we are usually just 2 people so its not too hard to mess up:blush:

Yes, you have to include even an infant in your ADR. The reason is for fire code. They have to keep count every person in the building, even the little ones.

As for what happens if you show up with the wrong amount - it depends. Yes, you can be turned away, and I've seen it happen a couple of times where a family showed up with 1 or 2 extras and the extras were denied seating. It depends on the popularity of the restaurant and how busy they are. If they can accommodate the extras they will, but you can't count on that, especially during "free" dining promotions. If you think you might have 4, book for that. If you show up with 3, no big deal. But, if you book the ADR for 3 and show up with more, that can be a problem. O'hana is a really popular place, so that could be an issue if you have the wrong number on your ADR. Even if your baby is in the Baby Bjorn the whole time because of the fire code count.

Yes you do have to count the infant in your party. I would not try and show up with +1. They may be able to seat you but it is not a guarantee.

I think whether or not they can accomodate a 1+ depends on if it will make it an odd or even number. There is no such thing at any Disney restaurant that I'm aware of that has seating for "1" or "3"' or "5" so adding an extra person wouldn't be an issue. However, going from 4 to 5 especially could be - I just made a bunch of reservations for 5 and several restaurants said that we might be seated at separate tables.

In terms of table-size you're exactly right, but in terms of fire code in the busy restaurants the +1 could be a real issue.

If you are a party of 2 adults and an infant, you definitely need to indicate that you are a party of THREE. There are tables for 2 at WDW restaurants, and you will not want to be at one of those with a baby (and all necessary baby gear). Those tables can be tight!

It's a good idea to reserve as a party of 3. Chances are you at least will have a bag full of their stuff so you need more than a table made just for 2.

Oh and FYI: I wore our infant son in the parks but I wanted to be able to enjoy my meal and not have a baby strapped to me. We brought a small umbrella stroller and asked if we could bring it in since he couldn't yet sit up in a high chair. All you have to do is ask.
