I can't believe it...my 1000th post!! And what better way to celebrate than to share some awesome news with my Intercot friends!

My mom is 79 and has had her share of health issue the past few years. She & my dad went to WDW a couple of years ago, but she didn't get to do anything she really wanted to do. (My dad talked her into getting on SM, but wouldn't go to Mickey's Philharmagic..go figure.) I've always felt bad that we've never gotten to experience WDW, just the two of us and have spent hours trying to figure out how to make it happen.

And finally...it's going to happen!!! Thanks to Terrisue at Magical Journeys, we were able to get free dining and a Royal Room at POR for Sept. 16-22!! Plane tickets are purchased, and we're both so excited to have our first "mother-daughter" trip EVER! I've booked restaurants that my dad would never go to, but know my mom will love. I'm so looking forward to spending some quality time with her in my favorite place. :mickey:

Just had to share my good news!

Congrats on 1000 posts and have a great time on your mother/daughter trip.

My daughter and I are doing that in June for her HS graduation gift.

Sounds fun. Have a wonderful time. My mom came with us for her first WDW trip in November and had an excellent time. She had no idea what to expect and was just amazed. Her favorite was the castle lights changing color (Christmas season).:mickey:

I just had to revive this thread by saying...only 8 days, 17 hours and counting!!!

Dreading the flights...thank heavens for medication. :mickey: We're going to MNSSHP on Sept. 18th, which is a first for both of us. I'm very grateful that my mom's health has held out...gotten the "all clear" from all her doctors, which is the best news of all.

I'm still a little sad that she won't get to see MMY or the new Fantasyland, but we will have a lot of other firsts: Mickey's Phillharmagic, FotLK, Nemo show, Beauty & the Beast show, dinner at Ohana, and lunch at Rainforest Cafe, just to name a few. But most of all, she'll get to experience WDW at HER pace...and she won't have to listen to my dad grump & complain for a week. :D

Just had to re-share my excitement!!
