I just had to share my happy dance.

Our passports were set to expire in May, so took them in last week. We've always had a bit of a hassle with them, so I wanted to be sure we had enough time to get it sorted.

Well, it was the best passport experience EVER! I was only in the office 26 minutes from walk in to walk out, and the new ones were delivered 8 days later. (a full week before the estimated mailing date)

Wow! So, to the rest of the Canadian Intercotee's, if you need a passport now seems like a good time to do it.

It's good to hear a positive story like that!

Heather, do Canadians get/renew their passports in a government building? I sorely wish that they would take them out of the post offices here in the states--it' just not the best set-up.

yes we have passport offices, the forms are available to pick up in post offices but we have to go to a passport office (or other approved service Canada office, or mail) to have the application approved. we always drop it off, may take about an hour but never a major hassle anymore.
