Mar. 25, 1999 – Elton John appeared on TV’s Late Show with David Letterman promoting Disney’s “Aida”, for which he has written the music.
Mar. 25, 2001 – Two Time Academy Award winner Lawrence M. “Larry” Lansburgh, known for his work on “Fantasia”, “Cinderella”, and “The Wonderful World of Disney”, died at the age of 89
Mar. 25, 2002 – Songwriter Randy Newman won an Oscar for Best Original Song for “If I Didn’t Have You” from Disney’s Monster’s, Inc.
Mar. 25, 2003 – Who Framed Roger Rabbit was released on video and DVD.
Mar. 25, 2005 – Disney Channel aired the “Phil of the Future” episode “Milkin’ It” for the first time. Also debuting was “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” episode “Maddie Checks In.”
Mar. 25, 2006 – Richard Fleischer-Disney Legend & veteran director of Disney’s 1954 “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea,” passed away at age 89 in California. The son of animator Max Fleischer, Richard’s directing credits include such well-known motion pictures as Fantastic Voyage, Doctor Dolittle, Tora! Tora! Tora!, Soylent Green, and The Jazz Singer.
Mar. 25, 2006 – Mike Peterson, a linebacker for the Jacksonville Jaguars, married his fiancé Chantel at Disney World’s Wedding Pavilion in Florida.
Mar. 25, 2007 – Disney’s 2005 live-action feature “Sky High” premiered on the Disney Channel.
Mar. 25, 2009 – The North American National Tour of “Mary Poppins” officially opened in Chicago, Il. With the two original Broadway stars, Ashley Brown as “Mary Poppins” and Gavin Lee as “Bert.”
Mar. 25, 2010 – “RIDEMAKERZ” store, where guests could build their own radio-controlled vehicles opened in Downtown
Disney at WDW.
