I live about 10mins from novi.... Actually Wixom has some pretty affordable (and decent looking) apartment for rent. Really out here no matter where you go you can find a good neighborhood. Novi, Northville, wixom.... all very nice areas and all within 10-15mins of each other.

But really Wixom apartments are very nice for the price they pay. I always joked that its like OKW.... you pay little points for a much larger room size :)

It's a nice area but I'm not close enough to there to give you any advice on housing. If he's looking for things to do in the greater Detroit area, I might be able to help with that.
