Feb. 15, 2002 - Richard W. Cook, a 31 year veteran, was promoted to Chairman of Walt Disney Studios.
Feb. 15, 2005 – Walt Disney Records released Disneymania 3, an audio CD featuring such recording artists as Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey, The Cheetah Girls, Clay Aiken, and Lalaine.
Feb. 15, 2005 – The “Disney Princess Collection 2005” was released on DVD and VHS.
Feb. 15, 2005 – Walt Disney Records new imprint designed to create original music for the entire family, “Disney Sound” was released.
Feb. 15, 2006 – Mount Everest arrived in New York’s Time Square as part of a massive Disney publicity stunt to promote “Expedition Adventure,” a new thrill ride soon to open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at WDW. A pair of giant billboards depict Mount Everest, a runaway train, and the mysterious villain Yeti.
Feb. 15, 2006 – The “Everest in the City” show took place at Times Square in N.Y.C. WDW transformed Times Square to celebrate the upcoming launch of “Expedition Everest” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Feb. 15, 2006 – The 4th Annual VES Awards were held at the Hollywood Palladium. (John Lasseter was given the George Melles Award for his lifetime work in advancing visual effects and digital technology.)
Feb. 15, 2007 – New England Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi and his wife Heidi, who are on vacation with their family at WDW, took a ride aboard the “Expedition Everest” attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Bruschi, an 11-year NFL veteran, led the Patriots’ defense this past season with 124 tackles.
Feb. 15, 2009 – Disney announced it has signed a multi-year licensing agreement with Denmark’s privately held Lego Group, giving the toy maker access to Disney and Disney Pixar properties.
Feb. 15, 2011 – “Everybody Wants to Be a Cat: Disney Jazz, Vol. 1” was released on CD.
