Hey all
Id like to ask for some prayers from those of you who are religious and at least some possitive thoughts from those who are not.

My wife has a moderate case of Diverticulitis, or however its spelled, and the doctors have decided to do surgery and remove about 12inches or so from the bottom of her colon. I know its not as bad as it could be, but im still worried and stressed. She has been in pain since before thanksgiving and we will both be glad to have this taken care of and be over. PLease remember her in your prayers for a successful sugery and fast recovery.

Thanks

Lots of prayers and positive thoughts for your wife, and for you too, at this time. My brother in law had this surgery about 7 years ago and everything went well! He was in lots of pain and the surgery put an end to all his colon problems. Good luck to her!

Ditto to what buzznwoodysmom said. My best friend had that sugery about three years ago, and my manager also had that surgery at work. The pain she feels now will be a distant memory after the surgery. My best friend has never had a problem since. Good luck, I know it's stressful but the outcome will be much better than the pain she is going through now. The surgery from what I remember was quite easy and not as painful as the disease itself. Good luck to her and you! Keep us posted! :mickey:

More prayers on the way. Strangely enough, I just saw a friend last night who told me she was suffering from diverticulitis just last week.
She said it was painful :(.

Prayers and positive thoughts that all goes well and a quick recovery. Please keep us posted.

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. It has really helped, at least with my state of mind. We are both doing better metally with having to have the surgery done. Now its just a case of waiting for the day to arrive. Only 9 more days and we can get this knocked out and move on to better days.

Well, the surgery went fine yesterday. It took about 2 1/2 hours and that's what we were told it was going to take. Yesterday she was only alowd to eat ice chips and this morning she is on clear liquids like broth and jello and such. She was in a lot of pain yesterday and last night but it seems to be more manageable today. She even has her contacts in and is messing around with her tablet. Doc says we can take her home on Sat. So I want to thank everyone for rhiee prayers and well wishes, they really helped.

So glad to hear surgery went well. After the inital pain of last night after the surgery it will be mostly discomfort and some minor pains if bent or moving in certain positions. She needs to make sure she takes it easy until completely healed. No bending, etc which I am sure the hospital or doctor has already told you. Sending more prayers and pixie dust for a speedy and easy recovery!

Hey everyone!. Never, ever, doubt the positive effect of prayer. I am happy to say tht not only did the surgery go off without a hitch, but she progressed so well that the Doc has let her come home an entire day early!

She is eating solid foods and is managing her pain very well. Its going to take a bit but we are deffinately on the road to recovery.
