What have you experienced these times as far as weather/crowds?

We have been going the last week of October for 3 years in a row and the weather is wonderful and crowds are very manageable. The early part of January is very unpredictable as far as temperatures go. The crowds die down after New Years.

Those two times of the year will probablt have toally different weather & crowds. Oct warmer weather and heavier crowds. Jan cooler weather and lighter crowds.

Been a few years since we stayed there at that time. We always stay in January. Don't know how much it has changed in the past few years but from what I remember that first week of January was very good for us. The weather was great, we actually went to the water parks that trip. January has the lowest chance of rain for the year. Never been in October to compare the two, but in January the crowds died down very quickly within the first few days after the new year. The further we got throughout the week the lighter the crowds got. The crowds were extremely manageable whenever we have been there. The only time we have issues is the later in the month of January the more the tour groups there are and the heavier they are.

Don't forget the Intercot meet will occur at the end of October 2012! Perhaps that will sway you to visit then!

I've gone at both times of year and they both have pluses and minuses depending on what is important to you.

October definitely has better weather and a bit heavier crowds because of Food & Wine and MNSSHP. Usually fewer attractions are down for rehab.

January has lighter crowds but they are not as light as they used to be due to more tour groups and Disney adding more events in Jan. The weather is January is iffy. This year we have had gorgeous weather in January, but it is just as likely to be cold and rainy.
