Lap top I pad or both

Depends on what you want to use it for. Internet service at sea is very unreliable and expensive. I usually take my laptop solely for downloading photos from my cameras.

It won't pay, it will cost. As mentioned Internet at sea is expensive. I forget, but I think my last RCCL cruise cost $50 for two hours. It was time based, not byte based, and it's slow!

A laptop is more functional probably, and honestly, an iPad is almost free in terms of size and weight, I wouldn't let that keep me from bringing both. If you're thinking of using it as an eReader or iPod, so long as you preload everything.

RCCL was login based, so we actually used the same Internet account on multiple devices. Im not sure about DCL, but I imagine its very similar.
