St Pete Beach

st Pete beach is our favorite by Tampa. we stayed at the Alden Resort. the rooms are suites with full kitchens, separate bedroom and look directly out over the gulf. it isa family run resort with a great comfy feel. they were having a wedding there and the family seemed so comfortable.
If you go to the area go to Verduccis. GREAT Italian food. this meal alone is worth the trip.
we sat in the hot tub, played in the pool, played on the beach, played shuffleboard and relaxed. It wAs still warm and sunny and we were basking like lizards.
we only had one night here before going to st Petersburg for the wedding on New Years Eve.
I forgot! I saw the green flash at sunset! really cool.

Glad you enjoyed your stay! A lot of people head to Clearwater beach, but as a local I enjoy St Pete beach more. Thanks for the tip about the Alden, and next time you visit check out the Lobster Pot restaurant, it is a wonderful place to eat!

The green flash happens when certain atmospheric conditions are present. right before the sun dips past the horizon, a green flash appears, very briefly. I have never seen it before and I have seen a lot of sunsets all over the world.

I love the St Pete Beach area too. Good location to visit the other great Gulf Coast attractions....Johns Pass, Clearwater etc.

Thats awesome you got to see the green flash!! I only saw it once on Anna Maria Island near Bradenton FL. My wife and I, along with my parents went down to watch the sunset. There was a local guy there who said he watches every sunset he can. We were talking about the green flash and he said he had never seen it before. He had a bottle of wine with him and he said "if we see the green flash, we all have to celebrate with a toast". Wouldn't you know it, but we saw it!!! It was quick, but really cool! We all started cheering and celebrated with a toast!!
