I know, I know... I dropped the ball with my Halloween trip report. We got home, and well, life just happened!! Things have been moving fast and furious around here lately, so sadly, the report fell aside..
But!!! Here I am now with a brief rundown..a summary, if you will! And most importantly, with pics! Steve (DH) gave the full green light ( no pun intended when you see the pictures) for me to post, so in saying that..
We stayed Polynesian, Garden view club level with an AP discount. Got the room we requested, ground floor across from quiet pool. This was a 7 day trip, and the funny part is..the kids didn't have a single absence from school. The northeast was blessed with a freak snowstorm which shut down our area, including the schools. Even after we returned, the schools were closed another day! The downside to this was I was worried about our home, the trees, the cars, the house..would all be ok upon our return?? Our neighbor eventually called us with good news, our homes NEVER LOST POWER, and our neighborhood barely affected. All was well at home. Whew.
Some highlights: Ohana's!! Our first dinner was here as tradition dictates and Steve and I were chosen as couple of the night! (we celebrated our 20 year anniverary during this trip!). We were the limbo pole holders and led the parade. We were also adorned with grass skirts.
A super big highlight: Management at the Poly approached us to be Torch Lighting Ceremony family. They wanted to do something special for us since they considered us "special" guests". We learned that one of the CM's in the Hawaii bldg. asked to create a special experience for us. This was awesome. We met in the lobby. We were announced and led the group watching in the A-Looo-Ha!!!! We were escorted outside to be in front for the fire dancing then took pics with the entertainers. Later that night we found a beautifully framed photo of our family with the entertainers at the ceremony, waiting for us in the room. Sweet. I have it on my sidetable in our family room now!
The Halloween party!!! Fantabulous. The most fun we had at any Disney party, thanks to our costumes. Khloe (DD 15) did them all and we were a hit!!! So without furthur ado....

And...the one we chose for our Christmas card..Ta Dah!!!

Too funny!!! This was indeed a blast and a half.
Another highlight for us was Cirque. Our second time. We last saw it 8 years ago. This time we had category 2 seats with an AP discount. Our first time was Cat 1 seats. A word of advice. The cat. 2 seats were sooo much better. Since lots of the action was up high, being center at the top of the seats was PERFECT. So if anyone is wondering about that. Shoot for section 204, up top.
And another..The food and wine festival!! Not cheap doing this with a family of five, but may I say proudly, I don't think we missed a booth. I'm not kidding either. One afternoon we made a whole event of strolling and eating. So between the five of us, we hit them all. We don't drink, so that was good or otherwise we could have gone broke during this afternoon!!!
And another!!! Katie was chosen to be in the show at DHS, the Disney trivia street show and won 5 fastpasses for TOT!! We gave them away though, but it was still a great deal of fun.
And...this was so funny..walking around DHS, Kai spots the girl from Disney channels Shake it Up show. The girls take pictures with her. The funny part? When we were in Disneyland in California in August, walking in DTD there, we met the guy from the Shake it up show and took pics with him!! How weird is that? Two different coasts and two different stars from the same show!!!
This one was a seamless trip..some chilly weather, but hey, it's all good when your in WDW.
Thanks for reading, and up next? Well, I'll tell you later..can't give it away right now!!! ;)
