Doors on tram

The last time we were there they did not have doors on the tram. Was this started as part of the changes after the monorail accident. I was told that they have petitioned DOT 3 times to allow passengers to be able to ride up front on th emonorail but have been turned down. What about lap bars on Splasn M? How long have they been there?

Over time, additional safety measures have been added in a number of areas - these include the doors on the tram; the lap bars on Splash Mountain; seat belts on Tower of Terror; and safety doors on rides like Big Thunder Mountain etc.

The tram doors were new on our last trip, and at first I was worried about them, slowing down the loading, getting caught in them, etc. But, it was super easy, and I have to admit I felt a bit safer knowing no one was going to slide out.

It's been almost a year for both doors on tram and lap bars on Splash.
