Just a quick report on our weekend (as I'm sitting poolside at BLT recovering!)
My daughter turned 12 on Friday. Saturday morning I checked in to BLT in a one bedroom villa, mk view. LOVE these
Rooms!!!
I got everything set up for the party - decorations and favors, etc) and the guests arrived at 3. 8 girls from her school. A friend of mine joined us and we were off on the monorail to the GF for tea at Garden View Lounge.
We had a lovely time- our service was fantastic (I preordered Ms Potts teas for the girls and buckinghams for the adults to cut confusion- the girls just picked their drinks. )
They were SO sweet! They all dressed up and we were a little Nervous (only my dd had done the tea before) so while they got our table ready I went over what to expect and how to handle
Themselves. They were AWESOME! They felt so lady like and grown up! But twelve year olds nonetheless as I overheard "can We lick our cups?" and watched them all try a sugar cube straight out of the bowl! :D
But their behavior was impeccable and the giggles and wiggles were held at bay until after we left.
After the tea and a few pics, we monorailed back to BLT and opened presents and played some games. Late dinner (LOVED having the full kitchen! Made pizza rolls, pigs in a blanket, mini burgers, pinwheels, etc) then cupcakes and it was time for fireworks. Some kids were too cold and watched from the living room. The others on the balcony. They were in awe!
This morning I made donut kabobs and had the girls picked up a 9:00 so I could disassemble the party and clean the room before checkout. It was great!
Overall, the kids lived their tea (and teacup favors) and were EXCELLENT and a joy to have. My daughter said best bday ever! :cloud9:
Makes all the hard work worthwhile-
Btw- I woke up last night a few times- wanted to see if/when they turned off the Icicle lights (yes they're on!!!!) and at 4am, I heard Christmas music (I kept the door cracked in the bedroom) and saw them "rehearsing" the holiday castle projection show! (the holiday edition of "memories magic and you"). SO cool! I managed to video a little. It started with joy to the world and it was too cool!!!
