Using MYW base ticket for multiple parks

We are trying to take a quick 5 day trip next spring. This has probably been asked, but I don't remember the answer. We normally purchase park hopper tickets. (We are a family of six.) However, after doing the math, I realized that purchasing 7 day base MYW tickets is $278 cheaper than purchasing 5 day Park Hopper tickets. Since we usually only park hop once or twice, can I purchase the base MYW tickets and "burn" the two extra days to enter another park on two evenings?

Wont work -- you can only use each ticket once per day

Disney has done the math as well so they don't allow this.

All the above are correct. If you want to park hop, you need to pay for that perk. Otherwise you are stopped at the turnstyle and they will direct you to the ticket booth. Have your credit card handy...
