Minus any promotions...Is there an advantage to doing MYW over booking room, tickets, dining plan seperately?

You cannot purchase the dining plan unless you book a MYW package staying on site.

Other than the DDP, there is a booklet they send for packages that has some discount coupons - Planet Hollywood 15% off; Planet Hollywood free keepsake (poster); % off at Sammy Duvall's; SeaRaycers; mini-golf discount; etc. - that I do not believe you get for a "Room Only" booking.

You CAN take advantage of EMH's at the parks, DME (if flying into MCO,) Online Check-In, Resort Check-In (for your return flight, if used)

Exactly! The Disney Dining Plan can only be booked as part of a package (in most cases...AP holders are an example of an exception).

You can book a room, and park tickets separately (sometimes with pretty good "room only" discount) and pay for meals as required.

You still get all of the "on-site perks" like extra magic hours, no matter if you book a whole package, or just a room.
