checking in

We are going as a magical gathering in January. My family (my husband, our children, and I) are doing a park on the day we check-in, and we were wondering if my parents would be able to check in for us if the room is already paid for and the card is already on the room for charges while there. Would they be able to and get our room key?

Did you purchase a vacation package, or are you purchasing your tickets separately? I don't know if there is anything special for grand gatherings, but in the past the person whose name is on the reservation is the one that needs to check in. Even though my DH is on the reservation with me, I've still had to show my driver's license in order to pick up my KTTW card. And, since we always buy a package, our park admission is on our room key (KTTW card). Hopefully someone will be along who has had experience with the gatherings.

We did not get a package so our KTTW is just for our room. I don't know if that would make a difference or not.
