Oct. 18, 1967 – The Disney film “Charlie the Lonesome Cougar” was released.
Oct. 18, 1970 – Disney’s part-1 of the 2-part TV movie “The Wacky Zoo of Morgan City” aired. (Part-2 aired Oct. 25, 1970)
Oct. 18, 1971 – “TIME” magazine featured the article “Disney World: Pixie Dust over Florida” in this week’s issue.
Oct. 18, 1972 – The Disney film “Run, Cougar, Run” was released.
Oct. 18, 1979 – Disney’s first musical-theater show “Snow White” premiered at Radio City Music Hall in N.Y.C.
Oct. 18, 1986 – The Disney Channel Premiere Film “Spot Marks the X” aired.
Oct. 18, 1987 – Actor Zach Efron, the star of Disney Channel’s 2006 “High School Musical,” was born in San Luis Obispo, Ca.
Oct. 18, 1990 – Imagineer Roger Broggie was honored at the Disney Legends Awards, company Chairman Michael Eisner said, “Any mechanical things you had to do, what you said was, ‘Call Roger, he’ll know how to fix it.’ Without him, Disneyland wouldn’t have happened.”
Oct. 18, 1990 – The Educational video “The Great Quake Hazard Hunt,” starring Chip and Dale, to prepare children in the event of an earthquake, produced by Disney’s KCAL-TV and KFWB News Radio was released.
Oct. 18, 1995 – Final paving for the track at the new Walt Disney World Speedway took place. Despite 1995 being the wettest June-July in Orlando on record (75 inches of rain), including Hurricane Erin, the construction was completed on time!
