Cast:
Me, Trish, 38 (the planner)
DH, Shaun, 39 (goes along with the flow because it is easier than arguing with me)
DD1, Sammy, 7 (Princessy and dreamy, loves when the princesses kiss their prince… also rather energetic)
DD2, Alex, almost 5 (amazing comedic timing, silly and snuggly, however if there was 1 kid who was going to trip and fall, it is Alex)
DS1, Josh, 15 months, (aka Mr. Destructo, by the end of vacation we all called him Stitch, because he can get into that much trouble that fast!)
Rented DVC points and stayed at Boardwalk Villas in a studio.
9/22/11
Woke up about 4 am and we showered before waking up the girls. This trip was a surprise for them. Well sort of. They knew we were going, they just didn’t know when. So we used the video camera and shot the “We’re going to Disney World!” video, which was very funny, since they were both still half asleep. Every time Sammy asked about going, we had told her we didn’t have the money, so she was going to start a hot cocoa and soup stand this fall to raise money. When we woke her up, her comment was , “So I don’t have to make the hot cocoa stand afterall?” My mom came to drive us to the airport and then drive our van home. It was pretty dark and drizzly when we left. Happy to say the kids did pretty well on the plane, even Josh. He wiggled a lot, but not a lot of screaming. Once we landed, we headed to Magic Express for our bus ride to the Boardwalk. Not a long wait or ride, and we were dropped off. I had checked in on line, and we were able to pick our cards up and transfer our park tickets onto our room cards. Our room was not ready yet. My best friend had been at the same resort a week earlier in room 2099 and she loved it. She had just checked out the day before, so I was wondering if we would get her room. Once we got the call, we were in room 3099, exactly one floor up. We left our carry on with bell services and headed off to Magic Kingdom. Our family’s first ride tends to be Haunted Mansion, and it was the same this year. We also had lunch upstairs at Columbia Harbour House. I love the humus and broccoli slaw on multi grain. We then hit a few of the rides. We had dinner ressies at Chef Mickey’s for dinner and took the monorail there. We saw Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Goofy. The roast beef with horse raddish sauce was so good! Josh was kind of cranky, but after he had a little dinner, and I got him some m&m’s at the dessert bar to munch on, he was fine. By the end of this Shaun and I were both pretty exhausted. So we took the monorail back to MK, and then the bus home. I like that most of the busses now all have the wide aisle. Makes it easier since we are lugging 3 kids and 2 strollers (one that is a double jogger!) We got back to the hotel, explored our room. And called down to bell services for the food we ordered from Garden Grocer, and our carry on items. The girls were longing to swim, but we were just too tired. We promised them swimming in the morning. We unpacked, and hit the bed.
